Joyzine

The cover image is a photograph by Anthony Ellis which we used as one of the images for our new single 'We Won't Be Here Tomorrow' (Anthony also took the single cover image as well as the upcoming album cover.) We've worked closely with a small group of photographers and artists to build up a visual identity around REVERE which best reflects what we're trying to say, and I guess the connecting theme would be one of 'human absence'. The lyrics and images all deal with those spaces where we can see traces of humanity left behind in its absence.

The picture for this issue’s cover was chosen because it showed the tattered remnants of a celebration, bunting from a street festival. The people aren't there but as the song suggests it's all about renewed starts and leaving everything else behind. It's the most joyful and positive thing we've done to date and Anthony's pictures perfectly reflect that.

Every issue, we challenge an artist or band to create or select an image for the front cover on the subject of ‘Joy’.  This month, Steven Ellis of epic 8-piece Revere takes charge.
